Air Purification Tips

Here are some fun facts about air purification you may have not known! Feel free to share tips to your friends and family!

#1 - Less Dust a Must!

There are many benefits of having an air purifier from Mike Lee's Clean Machine. The favorite of most women...less dust in the house and their home always smell good.

#2 Breath Easier, Get Your HEPA High

If you've ever owned an ionizer, HEPA system or a "tower" purifier, odds are you had them on your floor or a small table. They should have been displayed as high as possible. That's where the tiniest particles are, floating in the air. These are the particles that trigger asthma and allergy attacks, as well as those with COPD and sleep apnea.

HEPA filters are regarded as the best type of filters in the world. The letters are short for "high efficiency particulate arresting." HEPA technology was invented to reduce the harmful chemicals that were created from bombs in WWII. Be honest - how many of you knew that?

#4 Need More Than One Air Purifier for a Home

As popular as they are, HEPA filters have several drawbacks: One of the biggest complaints I've heard over the years is that they only clean the air in a small area. If you need to purify the air in your home, it would require several units and that can get expensive. What other complaints have you heard? Please let me know.

#5 Can't Stomach Penicillin

A lot of people are allergic to mold. Penicillin is a very common type of mold. Odds are that if you're allergic to penicillin, you'll be (at the very least), sensitive to mold.

#6 Black Mold Starts Initially Harmless

Stachybotrys, also known as "black mold," is not as common as lesser strains, like Aspergillus or Penicillium. However, it doesn't start out as Stachybotrys. It begins as a less harmful and more common strain. Left unattended in the right conditions, though, it can develop into black mold."

#7 Mold Is Hard To Kill

Molds are fungi that can be found both indoors and outdoors. No one knows how many species of fungi exist but estimates range from tens of thousands to three hundred thousand or more. Molds grow best in warm, damp, and humid conditions, and spread and reproduce by making spores. Mold spores can survive harsh environmental conditions, such as dry conditions, that do not support normal mold growth.

#8 Know Your Mold

Here are four common indoor molds: •Cladosporium - Penicillium - Alternaria - Aspergillus.

#9 Common Reactions to Mold

The inability to think clearly, concentrate or feel lethargic; Lacking energy, general confusion and cold / flu-like symptoms. While these symptoms may not necessarily be from mold, quite often they are (especially if they "suddenly" appear or occur when you move into a new place or start a new job).
